CHANGES TO ARTISTS HELPING CHILDREN - PLEASE READ - Artists Helping Children is No Longer Acting as a Nonprofit Due to the New Provisions of The Pension Protection Act of 2006 Passed on August 03, 2006. We Are No Longer Accepting Donations of Any Kind. We are Currently Keeping This Site Up As Is and Will Continue to Post Information on Any Updates to the Status of Artists Helping Children. The Site Still Has a Wealth of Information and Can Still Be Used as Such. We Are Obviously Deeply Distressed Over This Provision That Was Secretly Included In This New Law and We Were Taken by Complete Surprise. We Hope in the Future That We Will Be Able to Change the Status of Our Organization so That We Can Once Again Resume Our Help to Children. PAINTING A RAINBOW OF SMILES FOR SICK AND NEEDY CHILDREN

Artists Helping Children is a site dedicated to bringing comfort to children in hospitals, clinics, and shelters by brightening their environment with murals and other art. There are so many children who live on a daily basis, suffering, and always surrounded by white walls. Our mission is to bring color and fun to these children's lives by painting uplifting murals on institutional walls, making the child’s visit much less stressful to take their focus off of their pain and refocus their energy. The Artists Helping Children site offers useful information on how to go about becoming more charitable and doing wonderful things like painting free murals in hospitals, shelters and clinics or by sending handmade dolls or boxes of crayons or colored pencils to sick kids. This resource will give you ideas on how to involve both you and your children in the helping sick and needy children find a better healing environment. There are many ways that your child can volunteer and help the children who need them. Your child can: make pictures and cards to send to hospitalized children, paint tote bags and then fill them with crayons and a coloring book to send to sick children ... help paint a canvas mural to be sent to a hospital or teminally ill child ... help knit or sew stuffed animals to be sent to hospitalized children ... hold a stuffed animal drive for charity ... hold a charitable teddy bear making and stuffing party (bears go to hospitals) ... hold a birthday party for charity ... and many more ways your child can help other kids...
