DAD Picture Frame Craft - A easy-to-make picture frame for Dad - a great gift for Fathers Day.This craft idea for kids is ideal for younger crafters.

CRAFTS MATERIALS YOUR KIDS NEED TO MAKE THIS CHILDRENS' ARTS AND CRAFTS ACTIVITY:

Heavy paper (like oaktag)
3 small photos
Glue
Scissors

Using large, bubbly letters, write "DAD" on a piece of heavy paper. Make sure the holes in the "D" and "A" are large enough to display your photos.

Cut out the word "DAD."

Glue the photos onto the back of your frame. Write the names of the people on the backs of the photos.

Cut out two almost-triangular pieces of heavy paper - they should be about the same length as your letters are high. These flaps will be attached to the back of the frame to keep it standing.

Odds and Ends Frame - This is a easy to make kid's craft project is great for Father's Day, Mother's Day or any other holiday gift. It went over extremely well, and the children proved to be very creative. The craft idea is easy to personalize and can be made from almost anything!

CRAFTS MATERIALS YOUR KIDS NEED TO MAKE THIS CHILDRENS' ARTS AND CRAFTS ACTIVITY:

Framing mat board
Odds and ends (string, beans, buttons, shells, etc.)
Strong white glue (that dries clear)
Very sharp craft knife
Strong scissors
Cutting surface
Strong 1" tape (preferably with nylon fibers enmeshed)
Markers or crayons, optional

Cut out 2 (8"x8") squares of the mat board using either scissors or the
craft knife.

Cut out a 3"x5" section from the center of one of the squares. Use the craft knife for this step.
Cut a "v" shape into one edge of the other 8" square. Be careful not to cut it out completely as this will be the stand.

The "v" is in fact two cuts, going diagonally from the bottom to the middle of the frame. If you divide the frame into thirds (along the bottom), then cut diagonally upwards until the two cuts would be about 1 inch apart, this works.

Bend this section back. It will break the mat board, but notentirely. At this point, place a strip of nylon reinforced tapevertically over the break to support the stand.

Tie Card for Dad - Dads love to get crafts made by their kids! This easy to make card is a great way for kids to tell Dad how much he means on Father's Day.

CRAFTS MATERIALS YOUR KIDS NEED TO MAKE THIS CHILDRENS' ARTS AND CRAFTS ACTIVITY:

A piece of card stock or heavy construction paper
Scissors
Markers or crayons
Glue
5 small white shirt buttons (optional)
A piece of colored construction paper or an old tie (ask Dad for an old tie you can cut up, just don't tell him why you want it)

To start making the shirt, cut the top of the card stock into an "M" shape.

Fold over the M-shaped area.

Draw a line down the center.

Either draw 3 buttons, glue on three paper circle (cut with a hole puch) or glue real buttons on the paper to the right of the line you just drew.

Either make a tie from construction paper or use the bottom part of an old tie (ask Dad for an old tie you can cut up, just don't tell him why you want it).

Glue the top of the tie to the card. The rest of the tie should be free to move.

Fold down the collar flaps and glue them down.

Either draw a button on each collar flap or glue on real buttons.

Write a message to Dad on the tie, on the underside of the tie, and/or on the area of the shirt that is hidden by the tie.

Optional: Make a pocket with a handkerchief. Glue a small paper rectangle (the same color as the shirt) onto the shirt. Only put glue on three sides of the pocket -- do not put glue on the top so the handkerchief can slip in and out of the pocket. Cut out a small piece of paper that will fit into the pocket -- this will be the handkerchief. Write a message to dad on the "handkerchief."
