Advent calenders are always lots of fun. But most of them take ages to make. Here’s a simple version of the advent calender that will take you a couple of hours to make- at the most. The concept is simple.The bottom of the tree has spaces to store gifts. Every day, your child gets to put one gift on the Christmas tree. When all the gifts are put up,  it’ s Christmas day!!.

Easy to Make Christmas Advent Calendars Arts and Crafts Activities for Kids for Kids, Teens, Preschoolers

Craft materials required for the Whole Advent Calendar:

Black card paper- large sheet

Gold paper

Wax paper

Colored card paper

Assorted ribbons( narrow), colored tape

Green acryic paint

Paintbrush

To make the gifts:

Cut out a piece of card in the shape of a small square

Cut out a piece of ribbon larger than the width of the square and place it behind the square as shown

Fold the ends towards the front and tape them in place.

Take another piece of ribbon longer than twice the width of the square, fold in half and place the square between the two ends as shown.

Tie the ends together tightly. If required make a second knot.

Turn over to the side where you had taped earlier. Tape again to hold the second piece of ribbon in place.

Second technique to make gifts.

If you really don’t have time, and want a short cut- here’s a second technique.

Take a square piece of card and some colored tape.

” Wrap” your gift as shown in the pictures below

Use a combination of ribbons, colors and tape to make 25 such gifts. Then arrrange them on the advent calender as shown below. The instructions for making the calender are given in part 2 of this tutorial.
