Make Embroidered Designs on Card Stock - Basics - Part 2

Make a beautiful border for a greeting card and impress your family and friends. If you have never used this technique before, follow the steps given in Part 1 of this series ( link to part 1).

Make Beautiful Embroidery Thread Designs on Paper Card Stock – Basics – Part 2

Craft materials required:

Thread (single strand)

Needle

Scissors

Card / thick paper

Pencil

Scale

Cut out a piece of card approximately 20 cm x 15 cm and fold it as shown.

Leaving about half a cm distance from the sides draw 2 sets of perpendicular lines, 4 cm each, on two corners as shown.

Mark points every 0.5 cm as shown.

Use the seimography technique shown here ( link to part 1) to make the design.

The back of the card will look like this

Cut out a piece of card, half the length of the original card and glue it in such a way that it hides the back of your needlework

Your card is ready. Add a special message or greeting in the center of the card and give it to someone you love.

Gold beads Christmas Card

Here’s a pretty handmade bead card that your children’s friends and family will be very impressed to see. Make sure you get the right kind of beads- flat on one side and rounded on the other. The simple instructions to make this Christmas card are given below.

Materials Required:

Gold beads ( flat on one side)( see picture below)

Card paper

Silver paint

Brush

Glue

Scissors

Step 1

Fold a piece of card paper into the size card that you want.

Step 2

Place one bead on the top middle as shown.

Step 3

Arrange 2 beads below it, 3 below the next row and so on.

Step 4

When you reach the lower part of the tree, you can do rows like 5,6,5,6 to give a zigzag effect of a christmas tree.

Step 5

Use silver paint to make a border and finish off the tree with a star. Allow it to dry, write a message to a friend for Christmas.

Wax Painting Thanksgiving Cards Arts and Crafts Activity for Children

Make a special thanksgiving card for your friend with wax crayons and paint. You can even add a secret message that no one else can see!! Below you will find instructions for this Thanksgiving Greeting Card Craft.

Materials required:

White card paper

Black poster paint

Wax crayons- light shades, including white

Paintbrush

Fold a piece of card as shown in the picture.

Use the wax crayons to draw designs or write any text you like.

Now take some dilute poster paint on your paintbrush and paint over it to reveal your designs.

Make sure you paint the whole card

You can write a special  message for your friend with white wax crayon. Tell your friend to use the same technique to read the message.

How to Make a Spidery Halloween Party Invitation or Greeting Card : Craft for Kids

Here’s an interesting card you can make for Halloween. And the best part is that its really fun to do. Lets learn a new technique called blow painting. This unique Halloween Party Invitation or Happy Halloween card is easy to make and your friends and family will remember it for a long time. The easy arts and crafts instructions for making this Creepy / Spooky Spider Halloween Party Invitation or Greeting Card can be found below.

Crafts Materials Needed:

Materials Required:

White card

Poster paint- Black, Orange

Scissors

Straw

Paintbrush

Cut the card paper to a size you like and fold into half as shown

Step 1

Drop some paint on to the center of the paper. The paint should not be too dilute, but it should be free flowing.

Step 2

Take your straw, hold it about 1 inch above the paper and blow. Spread the paint, by blowing.

Step 3

Once you are done, let it dry. Roughly paint with orange near the edges to add to the Halloween effect.

Your card is ready. Use it to invite your friend for a Halloween Party, or send it with a Halloween greeting to your Grand mom living away from you.

How to Make a Ghost Halloween Party Invitation or Greeting Card : Craft for Kids

This friendly ghost will say “Boo” to scare your friends this Halloween. This unique Halloween Party Invitation or Happy Halloween card is easy to make and your friends and family will remember it for a long time.  The easy arts and crafts instructions for making this Scary Ghost Halloween Party Invitation or Greeting Card can be found below.

Crafts Materials Needed:

Black Card paper

Acrylic paint- silver, black

Small piece of white cloth

Tissue/ toilet paper

Black thread

Scizzors

Paint brushes

Permanent marker

Craft Glue

(1) Cut a piece of card the size you like and fold it into half. Take some silver Acrylic paint on a brush and spread it thinly on the front of the card. Leave half an inch of black on the sides as shown. The painting does not need to be neat or even, the roughness is part of the final effect.

(2) Take some black acrylic paint on a brush and write the words BOO.

(3) To make a ghost, Cut out a square piece of white cloth about 3 in x 3 in. Crunch a square of toilet paper into a ball and place it in the center of the cloth as shown.

(4) Fold the cloth around the ball and tie a black thread around it to hold it in place. It should look like this. Add eyes with a permanent marker

(5) Use Craft glue to fix the ghost to one corner of your card. Add a special message inside and give it to a friend!
