On President's Day we celebrate George Washington's Birthday. So, in honor of our first President's birthday I'm going to show you how to make an easy George Washington Hat. Your youngest of crafters will love making this George Washington Hat.... almost as much as they love wearing it. You don't need many materials for this craft. As a matter of fact, you probably have most of the materials at home already. So, grab the materials needed and let's get started.

I'm going to show you how to make a Paper Bead Bracelet. That's right.... it's a bracelet made out of paper. With paper you actually make the beads that make up this bracelet. Surprisingly enough..... by simply rolling paper and adding glue it creates a very strong and durable bead. Choose your favorite color paper to make the beads and the result is a beautiful bracelet you will be proud to wear with your favorite outfit. So, let's get started.

And, if your school is anything like mine they have a big party celebrating the 100th day of school. For the younger kids it is sometimes difficult for them to grasp just how long 100 days are. A great way to teach them how large 100 of something is..... is to actually show them 100 of something. That is what today's craft is all about. I'm going to show you how to make Paper Chains for the 100th Day of School. Ideally, this craft should be started on the first day of school and add a chain piece to each other each day of school until you reach 100. But, if you haven't started that already you can do this craft on the 100th day of school as well. So, grab the materials needed and let's get started.

This method can be the basis for developing an understanding of sculpture, or form in space. Since children are familiar with line drawing, the transition to drawing in space would be logical. Strips of construction paper, cut to one inch widths on the paper cutter, can be made in advance. Demonstrate how a strip can be a straight line, a curved line, or by folding the strip it can be a zig-zag line. Everyone can try it and see how many different kinds of lines they can make. A line can enclose space so that basic geometric shapes —triangles, circles and squares—can be formed. These outline shapes can be combined with scotch tape, paste, or with a stapler. What can we make with these shapes?
