Thanksgiving Memories Scrapbook Craft for Kids

Thanksgiving is a time to think and talk about all the great things that have happened throughout the year. Here is a memory scrapbook that you can make to remember this year’s Thanksgiving forever. Use it to start a conversation about the great times you had as a family through the year. Step 1

Write Memories 2009 on your first page and decorate it

Step 2

Decide what your different pages are going to be on. For example, one of my pages is about our family holiday to Paris and another one is about a rainy day we spent together, and my aunt’s wedding. You can make as many pages as you like.

Step 3

Punch holes on the sides, and tie together with a ribbon as shown.

Step 4:

Sit down together as a family on thanksgiving day and spend some time talking about each page and all those treasured memories.

On the other side of the leaf , write something nice about the person.

Step 5

Paint the edges of the leaf gold as shown

Step 6

Place the leaf in the center of the plate, and you’re all set for thanksgiving dinner.

Draw out different shaped leaved on different fall colored papers

Free Thanksgiving Pigrim & Turkey Activity Game : Make Printable Foldable Pilgrims & Turkeys Thaksgiving Tic-Tac-Toe Paper Crafts Game for Kids

Have a free afternoon and want to do make cool  Thanksgiving Turkey pop up cards for family and friends?  This is a unique Turkey pop up card in that this one has an open and closing beak. My kids said that it is the coolest pop up card that they have ever seen, so I decided to share it with all of you nice kids and parents. Find out how to make this Happy Thanksgiving Turkey Beak Pop Up Card with the following easy to follow, step by step instructions for kids and parents. Instructions follow below:

Materials Required:

2 pieces of Paper or card stock (works better with card stock but not necessary…I used paper)

Scissors

Markers

Crayons / Colored Pencils

Step 1

Fold a piece of paper in half.

Step 2

Cut a slit about an inch long in the middle of the folded side of the piece of paper.

Step 3

Now fold a corner to the left and to the right at the slit (like shown above).

Step 4

This part is hard to illustrate, but fold the paper in the opposite direction and push the crease inwards.

Step 5

You might have to push the paper in different direction for the Turkey’s beak to start to look like this (shown above).

Step 6

After being able to get the piece of paper to look like the step above, then turn the paper upside down and glue everything (BUT  DON”T GLUE THE BEAK).  Then glue it to the 2nd piece of paper (BUT DON’T GLUE THE BEAK DOWN).

Step 7

After the glue dries….start drawing the turkey’s face. First draw it in pencil … later outline in marker. Draw the turkey’s beak first. A triangle on top of the slit, and a triangle on the bottom of the slit. Also draw 2 circles above the top triangle (don’t draw over the beak though). This also looks like a sideways number ‘8′.

Step 8

Now put 2 cirlces (with a pizza slice triangle cut out of that circle for a highlight in the eye) inside the bigger circle for the Turkey’s irises.

Step 9

Now draw a bunch of feathers on the turkey…they sort of look like sideways letter ‘U’s

Step 10

Draw the turkey’s ’snood’ (the thing that hangs down over the turkey’s beak. The snood sort of looks like a letter ‘U’ shape too.

Step 11

Now draw the turkey’s feet … I see a ‘3′ in the right foot and a backwards ‘3′ in the left foot…try to visualize these to draw them easier. Also draw 2 nostrils in the turkey’s beak.

Step 12

When you open and close this Thanksgiving card, you should see the beak open like this. If you want to, write ‘Gobble Gobble’ inside the Turkey’s mouth or write ‘Happy Turkey Day’ or ‘Happy Thanksgiving’ in the Turkey’s mouth. Or just leave it blank.

Thanksgiving Fall Leaf Hanging Decoration Craft for Kids

Here is a beautiful fall leaf decoration that you can hang on your wall or your door to celebrate Thanksgiving. Its very simple and easy to make. All you need is some paper, ribbon, scissors and glitter glue. The simple step by step instructions for this Thanksgiving crafts activity  follow.

Thanksgiving Fall Leaf Hanging Decoration Craft for Kids

Craft materials required:

Thick craft paper

glitter glue tubes- (Acrylic or 3D glitter glue works better)

ribbon

Scissors

pencil

Step 1

Draw out a leaf as shown

Step 2

Cut it out

Step 3

Write the words ” Give Thanks ” with pencil and go over it with glitter glue.

Decorate the rest with glitter glue

Step 4:

Turn it around and place a piece of ribbon as shown. Use cellotape  or glue to tape it in place

Step 5

Your fall leaf decoration is ready. Hang it on a wall for everyone to admire!!

Have a free afternoon and want to make the coolest craft you have ever made? All you need are a box, chopsticks, printer, paper, scissors, glue, and patience and you will have a fun Thanksgiving arts and crafts activity to keep you busy. This Thanksgiving game was a big hit in my house and I think your kids will love it too. Find out more below.

Chopsticks

Cardboard Box

Glue

Small Stick

Patience

Free Tic-Tac-Toe Thanksgiving Game Paper Models Diagrams Below:

Instructions for Making Tic-Tac-Toe Thanksgiving Game Activity:

(1) Cut out the templates (9 pages in all – 3 of each template) along the outer lines.

(2) This is what the template should look like after cut out along the lines. (above)

(3a) A hole must be cut in both ‘+’ marks on the template. You can either fold lightly (without creasing) and cut a slit in both directions on both ‘+’ marks  OR

(3b) put a pencil through the ‘+’ marks

(4) Fold along all inner lines and along each tab…after folding at these lines, the paper will sort of take shape (as seen above).

(5) Glue along all white tabs (as seen above).

(6) Push tabs into sides of box as seen above and hold down for about 8 seconds along each corner (as seen above).

(7) The very last side is hardest to put together … the only way to close it is to squeeze tightly and hope the crease doesn’t stay.

(8) Fold all 9 cubes together.

(9) Take 3 chopsticks and put each one through 3 of the cubes. You can put each color on one chopstick like I did, or mix up the colors the way that you want to.

Find a cardboard box that is a bit bigger than all of the squares so that there is space for the cubes to turn. Space the chopsticks out evenly and then with a scissor, put the tip through the sides of the box so that you can put the chopsticks through each side. At the end, the game should look like this and the cubes should turn easily.

(1) Print out Template 1 & 2 and read directions that are on the templates.
(2) Cut out all the pieces along the dark outer lines.
(3) Score all inner lines. You can use a dull butter knife to score the folds.
(4) After you score all the inner lines & tabs, most shapes will take on a 3d-like shape..and you should be able to figure out how it folds up. If not, take a look at the finished image  to help you out.
(5) After you visualize how the shape should fold, glue tabs and push together. Use small sticks such as a chopstick, toothpick, end of a paint brush, etc to push together hard-to- reach areas.
(6) Let dry and then play with your toy pilgrim girl.

Thanksgiving Greeting on Pebbles & Stones Table Decoration Craft for Kids

Have a free afternoon? Go out for a walk, pick up some pebbles them and use them to make a thanksgiving greeting. Its so easy that even pre- school kids can do it!! This crafts activitiy would make a great Thanksgiving table decoration or even centerpiece. Below you will find instructions for this Thanksgiving table decoration.

Materials required:

Poster paints

Pebbles

Paint brush

Step 1

Collect pebbles of a similar size.

Step 2

Arrange them the way you want. Paint a letter on each pebble.

On some you can paint the letter straight like this.

Step 3

On others, you can first do a background colour, let it dry, and then paint a letter like this.

Step 4

You can also paint pictures or faces like this.

Step 5

Allow it all to dry. Place it in your backyard, on your fireplace or any other place where people can see it.
