HOW TO MAKE EGG SHELL FLOWER BASKET PLANTERS : Easter Crafts for Kids & Teens

If you are sick of doing the same Easter crafts every year, here is one that is a bit different. Instead of just dying and decorating eggs how about changing it up this time around. With this craft you can grow little gardens inside the dyed egg shells. You can then tie the ggs up with ribbons and place them on tree branches. You then have little flower gardens hanging from your trees. These are beautiful...find out how to make them below...

Egg Shell Baskets

CRAFTS MATERIALS NEEDED:

Eggs

Soil

Flowers or Plants

Ribbons

How to Make Them:

First, prepare your Easter eggs as normal by piercing each end of an uncooked egg with a needle or pin. Blow through the hole at one end of the egg, catching the contents in a bowl. . If there is difficulty in blowing eggs, make the hole a little bit larger. Eggs are now ready for painting or dipping in egg dye.

Tint or paint large egg shells and allow to dry. Hold the egg lengthwise, and carefully chip out a small section at the top, as in Figure 1. Fill shell centers with clusters of tiny flowers, or bits of ferns and leaves. Draw ribbon through egg holes, and tie to branches, as in Figure 2.
