MAKING PAPER BAG CLOWN MASKS : How to Make Clown Masks with Paper Bags

How about making a clown mask with a simple brown paper bag that you get from the grocery store. You can add other items such as the hat and crepe paper collar. Use your creativity and make a great mask.

Clown Masks

CRAFTS MATERIALS NEEDED:

1. Brown paper bag which will fit over the head of the child.

2. Scissors

3. Rubber cement, paste, glue, or stapler

4. paint, markers, crayons, colored inks or watercolors

5. Materials such as bits of cloth, string, yarn, cotton, bottle caps, crepe paper, etc. may be used for decorative purposes

HOW TO MAKE IT

1. The paper bag should be placed over the head so that the bottom of the bag rests on the top of the head. If a long bag is used sections may be cut out so that the mask fits comfortably. The front and back sections may be left full length.

2. Locate and cut openings for the eyes.

3. The mask may be decorated and features added with any of the mediums and materials listed above.

4. Paint the face on ... it doesn't have to be like the one above.

5. Cut out 'C' shaped ears and paste to the side of the bag. You can make an earring if you want...maybe out of a pipe cleaner. Put the earing thru one of the ears.

6. Use crepe paper streams as the clown's collar.

7. Make a clown hat with a piece of construction paper rolled into a cone. Staple it closed. The bottom of the hat can be a paper plate. You can place bells at the top of the hat with yarn or string if you want.

Be Creative and make a pirate mask that you can be proud of.
