How to Make Flying Spool Doves

To make this craft, you will need 1 large picture of a bird, paste, scissors, 1 piece of heavy paper or card stock the size of the bird, 1 piece of string 18" long, 1 spool, paper punch, and 2 gummed reinforcements (they type kids place on ripped loose leaf paper holes.) Now mount bird on heavy paper then cut it out. Tie one end of an 18" string to a spool and other end of string to a hole punched in bird picture. (Use a gummed reinforcement over hole to keep string from tearing paper.) You may "fly" the dove bird by holding on to spool and swinging

Bark
Paintings - -
Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by making a version of a Mexican papel amate
(bark paper) painting. The "canvas" used in this folk art
is made by boiling bark and pounding it flat; for our no-sweat
substitute, we used a section of a brown paper bag.
Bible
School Dove Crafts - -
There are a few stories in the Bible where doves play a big role. The
most well-known story is of Jesus' baptism. In Matthew, it says the
Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus as a dove. When you teach this story
to children, prepare a dove craft for them so they remember the
lesson.
