These paper bag puppets turn out beautifully. By decorating the paper bags with pieces of cloth and using other crafts items, you will see that this hand puppet turns out great.

Making Paper Bag Hand Puppets

 

You will need the following materials to make Fist Puppets:

Newspaper

assorted sizes paper bags

string

scraps of cloth

facial tissue

crayons or paints

ribbon

needle and thread

rubber band

How to Make These Puppets

To make this, you need to wad a piece of newspaper to about the size of a small apple and place in the bottom of a paper bag. Tie the bag under the paper wad, leaving room to insert your index finger. Fold up the open end of the bag for a hem. Fashion the bag to resemble clothing by coloring and by adding cloth scraps, gift wrappings or facial tissue. Add the yarn for the hair and draw a face. Cut some holes in each side for inserting your middle finger and thumb for the arms. A rubber band will hold the waistline. Use ribbon for belt. Insert your hand and the puppet is ready to use. Children may write a script for using paper puppets.
