GET YOUR CHILDREN INVOLVED IN COMMUNITY SERVICE AND VOLUNTEER HIS OR HER TIME - VOLUNTEERING IS A GOOD THING
HOW TO HELP
Do you want to brighten up the days of a sick child? We need your creative spirit and your loving help. There are many ways that you can help the children that we serve.
Teaching our child that it's just as wonderful to give as it is to receive is almost never easy. But once they understand the concept, the rewards can last a lifetime. As a parent, you probably want to guide your child to become a healthy and ethical adult. How can you lead your child to a healthy future? What kind of activities can you do together as a family that will steer your child towards becoming a compassionate adult? Community service and Volunteerism are your answer. Not only will you show your child that it is “cool” to care for others, but it will also be a wonderful way to get others involved.
(1) Kids - Create Bags and Cuddly Dolls - We are filling up bags full of art supplies and cuddly animals to ship off to very ill children in hospitals. We have tons of art supplies, but not enough cuddly animals and bags. We are looking for canvas, cloth, or knitted bags to put the art supplies and cuddly animals in. We are also looking for handmade knitted, crocheted, and sewn cuddly animals, dolls, puppets, and other handmade toys. There is no greater way to show you care than to make a cuddly toy or beautiful bag for a sick or needy child. We have collected Knitting and Sewing Patterns for all of you to help. Not all of these patterns are easy, but we have marked off in red patterns that children can do with help of a parent. Please visit our Knitting / Sewing / Crocheting Page.
(2) Hold a Bear Making Party or Make a Bear On Your Own - Do you want to brighten up the day of a sick child? How about holding a Charity Teddy Bear Making Party or Make a Teddy Bear on Your Own. These are no-sew kits, so you don't need to sew. Tell your teachers, religious leaders, girlscounts and boyscouts leaders, and your parents. Make and stuff a teddy bear for a needy child. Find out what wonderful things can happen when people come together with love in their hearts .... hold a Bear Making Party or Event and you will see. Find out More Here.
(3)Paint Cotton Tote Bags - You can Purchase Cotton Tote Bags and Paint them with Fabric Paint. They are sold here for as low as $.60 per peice. If you can't afford to donate them to us, you can send to us your receipt and we will reimburse you for the bags. (Mention that you are from ArtistsHelpingChildren.org and they may lower the shipping to $3.50)

(6) Homemade Cards and Pictures - It would be wonderful if you could make homemade cards and pictures to put in the bags to the children. This could help cheer up a lonely or sad child. (7) Hold a Funddrive or a Arts and Crafts / Stuffed Animal Collection - Get your school, camp, religious organization, etc involved in holding a drive to collect either funds, arts and crafts items, or stuff animals for our cause.

ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE IN YOUR HEART
Hold A Charitable Birthday Party for Your Child with a Charity Party- As a parent, you probably know that the birthday party routine can be an almost painful experience. With about 20 children in your child's class, going to more than one birthday party in one weekend can occur quite often. If you have more than one child, birthday-party weekends can take over your entire life. Finding the right gift takes hours, wrapping the present and preparing the card is more time. When it is your child's turn for a birthday party, do you really want to put other parents through the same routine? Will your child really appreciate 20 birthday gifts on top of what you and your family have already given him? Does your child really need more toys?

Artists Helping Children is No Longer Acting as a Nonprofit Due to the New Provisions of The Pension Protection Act of 2006 Passed on August 03, 2006. We Are No Longer Accepting Donations of Any Kind. We are Currently Keeping This Site Up As Is and Will Continue to Post Information on Any Updates to the Status of Artists Helping Children. The Site Still Has a Wealth of Information and Can Still Be Used as Such. We Are Obviously Deeply Distressed Over This Provision That Was Secretly Included In This New Law and We Were Taken by Complete Surprise. We Hope in the Future That We Will Be Able to Change the Status of Our Organization so That We Can Once Again Resume Our Help to Children. Thank You Very Much to Everyone Who Has Worked With Us So Hard Up Until Now. Please Continue to Use This Site for Free Coloring Pages / Printouts, Arts and Crafts Project Ideas, and as a Resource for Childrens Art Articles, etc. Don't worry, All donations of items that were sent to us will still be sent to hospitals and shelters, etc. All recent checks sent to us will be mailed back to you. Thanks.
