Flamingos are tall, mostly pink birds with long legs. A flamingo often stands with its long, thin neck curved into an S shape. They’re also known for running on water, thanks to their webbed feet, to gain speed before lifting up into the sky. Flamingos fly and feed in large flocks of hundreds to even millions of birds.
Children can learn more about flamingoes by making interesting crafts. You can even make a flamingo using a walnut shell and card stock. To make this, you need to first trace the outline of the walnut shell and also the outline shape of the flamingo. Cut out the outline of the flamingo and take a stiff wire, bend it into a narrow V shape for the legs and feet and glue it to the card stock. Glue the walnut shell onto the paper. You can paint your flamingo after the glue dries completely.
Do you like these cute little hand print flamingoes? These are perfect for preschoolers, Kindergartners, or even older kids. Start off by making a hand print with your right hand, with the thumb pointing upwards, as in picture #1 above. Then let dry. Glue a googly eye on the top of the thumb. With a black marker, draw a curved line on the middle of the hand print, for the flamingo's wing. Then use a marker to draw a backwards #4 shape for its legs, as in picture #2 above. Then draw a moon-shaped beak. and draw arrow-shaped feet. There you go, its a cute little flamingo. I hope you had fun.
