Shamrocks are young clovers which has three or four heart shaped leaves and is a known symbol of Ireland. The four leaves shamrock is quite rare and represent good luck for those who finds them.
The shamrocks are sometimes worn by people in or on their hats on St. Patrick's Day. Since shamrocks is a symbol of Ireland, making shamrock themed craft is a popular St. Patrick's Day craft with children (and adults too!) this time of year (March 17).
