Going back to school is pretty exciting for kids and teens. You get to go back to school to see your friends for the first time in months. You get to meet your new teacher (or teachers) and you get to find out where you will be sitting and who you will be sitting next to. For a lot of kids, they feel starting a new school year is another chance to redefine who they are so they can be more popular. I remember that feeling as a kid...I wish that I had known that I should have just been myself.
Skip Over to Back to School Crafts
The most exciting part about going back to school is getting all of your school supplies. If you can't wait to go back to school then you might want to spend some of your spare time decorating your binders, notebooks, your backpack, and your lunch bag. You can really redefine all of your school supplies so that they are unique to only you. All of your friends (and kids who don't even know you) will be in awe of your cool school stuff.
There are so many creative ways to personalize your binders...create collages of awesome pictures from your favorite magazines, online, friends, your favorite things, and pictures of your aspirations. You can also decorate your binders with printouts of your favorite quotes or sayings. You can decorate your binder with comic strips from a magazine, the newspaper, or from online. You can take candy wrappers and glue them on in different directions tomake a colorful collage. Take different pieces of wrapping paper or decorative paper and paste them in fun ways to make a beautiful design.
How about your school bag or backpack? Do you want to personalize or decorate that too? Well there are a lot of ways to do this. If you have a light enough colored backpack, you can get acrylic paint and paint the most beautiful or funny pictures all over your backpack. Or you can use sharpies (or other permanent markers) to design a colorful and insteresting backpack design. Another idea that takes little to no effort at all is to buy iron-ons or sew-on decals at the crafts store. You would be surprised at how amazingly cool these decals are. Another easy idea is to get pins / buttons and pin them all over yoru bag. This will look very cool. Believe it or not, another great idea is to create designs with colorful duct tape...you won't be able to tell that it is duct tape and it will look awesome!
To make really neat book covers for your textbooks, just use your imagination. There are a lot of things that make really good book covers...and you wouldn't even think of it if you didn't know about it. Some ideas for you....use the following to make really cool book covers....comic strips pasted to brown paper bags, a gift bag, felt, fabric scaps or crepe paper glued and decoupaged to a brown paper bag, duct tape, jeans, vinyl, and anything else you can think of.
